Forget #JohnCarter in 3D.  If you’re going to watch one film in the third dimension, make sure it’s #PINA.

The trailer asks, “Is it Dance or Theatre or is it just Life?”  Ladies and gentlemen, I’m here to tell you that it’s all three and more.

Pina is a feature length documentary/tribute featuring the art of the late great German choreographer Pina Bausch, who died in 2009.

Oh yeah, it’s also in 3D.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Screw that, who wants to see a dance movie in 3D?!  I’m not paying $20 to go see something that’ll put me to sleep!” (Well, maybe you thought that.)

Well dear reader, I’m here to convince you to go see this film because this is not what you would expect at all.  Just take a look at the trailer above, and you’ll already get a feeling that this is not your ordinary dance flick or documentary.  That’s because of the woman that inspired the film.

For Those Who Believe Superheroes Exist

TRAILER: Superheroes

Just by chance, I stumbled upon this documentary on HBO last night and was completely fascinated.  Doc is about real people who try to be real-life superheroes, the psychology behind it, and the motivations of these people.  Surprisingly inspiring and really good.

For Those Who Love/Hate Kings of Leon
ARTICLE: Review of documentary “Talihina Sky” that provides an unflinching look at the band on their most recent turn.
Article says it’s actually very good as it describes the clash of family values, religion, and politics among the family-member band as well as unnerving shots of them partying hard.  Hmm, could you respect KoL after seeing this?

For Those Who Need To See This Documentary

TRAILER: I AM

Tom Shadyac is the director of Ace Ventura, Liar Liar, The Nutty Professor, and Bruce Almighty.  He was a millionaire who lived in excess.  A couple years ago, he got in a horrible bike accident that left him injured, scarred, depressed, and suicidal.  He pondered what he was leaving the world with.  Then, he miraculously began to recover.  Feeling better, he set out around the world to speak with philosophers, thinkers, scientists, and psychologists of today to ask them two simple questions:

What is wrong with our world? What can we do about it?

This is a documentary about the answers to those questions and the surprise revelation that came with it: what is right about our world.

An inspiring, uplifting, and thoughtful documentary, this movie will make you see the world and the way you interact with it in a whole new way.

Props to M.Cobraa for taking me to this and buying me a fruits & nuts snack pack ;)

Are you going to go see it?
